Dr Elin Davies (MBBS FRCA MRCPsych)
Dr Elin Davies qualified as a doctor from the Middlesex Hospital Medical School., London University, in 1987. She subsequently took up post-graduate training in anaesthesia, and spent seven years in this specialty, during which she gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
However, in keeping with the broad range of experience she acquired during this time and the development of further curiosity about the nature and meaning of illness and the role of the doctor, she then pursued training in psychiatry.
She trained on the Charing Cross and St Mary’s scheme in London, acquiring accreditation as a specialist in General Adult Psychiatry in 2004. In 2005, she moved to Cornwall and has subsequently worked in the NHS and in independent practice.
She works eclectically, combining biological and psychological perspectives on the understanding and treatment of psychiatric disorders, with underpinnings from the fields of psychoanalysis and psychopharmacology.
She has experience in assessing and treating a broad range of difficulties, including anxiety spectrum and mood disorders, personality disorders, psychoses and neurodevelopmental issues.
